July 24th - Once again we welcomed STEVE SCOTT CHANGES to Nettlebed - Steve first came in the early 80's with RIO and after 25 years his voice is just as brilliant. Mike, on lead guitar, thrilled the audience with his picking. Steve sang some of the old ones, favourite always being "Life Turned Her That Way". He sang "If Tomorrow Never Comes" for Della and, as usual, he packed each set with great songs. His number of songs per set must beat anybody. Once again we had new faces who are always more than welcome, the atmosphere was electric and we thank Steve, Mike and our wonderful supporters for that.

July 3rd - Cardy & Coke once again graced the stage of Nettlebed, their repertoire of country, Irish, Sixties and their own self penned songs were very well received by a good crowd. Once again it was very hot but the dancers didn't seem to worry, they were out to enjoy themselves as usual. It was an auspicious day as it was Ron's, of Flying Pig " fame, 80th birthday! It was a pleasure to see Ron and Trin back at Nettlebed as they have both suffered ill health recently. He makes the banners for us so we made one for him which he appreciated. It was also good to welcome back new members and, of course, all our regulars who never fail to support us. Summer months are always difficult with holidays etc. but you can always be assured of a good night at Nettlebed. If you haven't yet joined us come along and enjoy yourselves too.

June 26th - It was an extremely hot night at Nettlebed in more ways than one. The heat was in the weather and also in the atmosphere that Ireland's 1st lady of country music, Susan McCann , created

.Relaxed and in very good form Susan's powerful voice and the backing of husband, Dennis, and Shane gave us a wonderful night. She sang, she joked and sweated (sorry perspired) like the rest of us but the performance was superb. Although she has played in so many large venues with so many big country names she still enjoys a night at our little hall and we are privileged to have her.

It was great to see Bernie & Michael from the Oxford Irish Society paying their first visit and also several others who travelled long distances to be with us. Susan launched her new double CD and her record producer, Steve, came along too. CD sales were excellent and Susan and the boys set off for their next gig in Birmingham in a happy mood. Thanks to all those who supported us and enjoyed all the old time waltzes mixed with slow walltzes and quicksteps, as we always say without you there wouldn't be us.
